# 10 ranked Creighton basketball team pay a visit to children in the hospital 

It was a birthday Patrick Ryan and his parents won’t forget.
Patrick spent the morning of his fifth birthday being serenaded by members of the Creighton men’s basketball team. Seven players, along with head coach Greg McDermott, circled around the Council Bluffs boy’s hospital bed to sing “Happy Birthday.”
The team visited with Patrick and other patients at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center on Friday. The team makes the trip to the hospital each year during the holiday season.
“We can bring joy to them. It’s therapeutic for the patients, and it’s therapeutic for our players,” McDermott said. “We’re coming off a big game and have a big game tomorrow. But this is well worth it.”
