The day after the election, God has not taken a holiday, or the day off ( a thought on the Bible )

Listen to commentary here or read it below.

Hi: I am Billy David Dickson with a thought on the Bible.

Some of you hearing me today supported Mrs. Clinton for president while others of you backed Mr. Trump. Depending on how the election went ( I am writing, and recording this a few days before Election Day) some of you are happy, and some of you feel let down about yesterday’s voting.

One of the hardest verses to understand in the Bible is Romans 13:1 – “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

God is the one who decides who is put in office, and when they are removed from office. Keep this in mind around every election. Yes, we should vote for the person we think can best lead our nation for the next four years, but even if the person we vote for doesn’t win, we should not take that as a sign that God has gone on holiday, or taken the day off. Some of the worst rulers in history were placed there by God to judge nations and to bring them to repentance.

In Matthew 6 we are told not to worry that would include about who is our president. And verse 33 says to seek God first. If we put Christ first we will not be disappointed no matter who was put in office.

That is a thought on the Bible.

Until next time,

I’m Billy David Dickson
