The Rev. Jim Parker would many times overhear people talking among themselves about their problems. He wanted to help or offer advice but feared it might be inappropriate to interject, even with the best of intentions.
“How can I be where people are and be in a nonthreatening manner and offer advice?” Parker said recently about the quandary that had vexed him.
He found the perfect solution.
“It’s free ice cream,” Parker said. “People will stop for ice cream.”
That’s what led to the creation of Ice Cream and Answers, a shop in the center of Council Bluffs’ Mall of the Bluffs.
“Our goal is to help people,” he said. “We opened in the first week in November. I was amazed that during the Christmas rush, we were talking to six or seven people a day. Every day now I’m still talking to at least one person about a serious issue.”
(Billy’s Thoughts>>> Good for this Pastor and his church. Too often us who are part of the church of Jesus Christ will wait for the world to come to us instead of doing what the Bible says and go to the whole world. You can read more of the above story Minister serves ice cream, advice.)
