Bible Stories Are Not Stories

Bible stories.”

You’ve probably heard that phrase thousands of times.  However, it’s one that Ken Ham says we should take out of our vocabulary.   That’s because the word stories has become synonymous with “fairy tales.”

Happy Valentine’s Day True Love 2 14

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day so I did a video sermon on love. Below the video is a printed copy of some of the things I said about love.

Today is Valentine’s Day. A day in which people try to show or prove to others they love them. However where does true and everlasting loving come from? It comes from the Lord and the Bible.

What is true Love?

1 cor. 13: 8-13

True love is..

A. commitment ; today sadly the divorce rate keeps going up even among those who go to church and say they have   put their faith in God. I am totally against same -sex marriage . I believe it is a sin and goes against the word of God but as I wrote on my blog a few days ago   I wish so many of those who are fighting same-sex  marriage  would focus on helping to save marriages between one man and one woman.

B. Love put others first. They don’t care who gets the credit as long as the deed is done. William  Booth who helped to start the salvation army was once being given an award and he sent a letter to be read when he was given the  award. The letter had one word written in it. The word was others.

True love is what we find in what Jesus did for us. With all due respect my  Muslim friend Allah never died for you.

No one died for you not Mary, Joseph Smith, not Billy Graham but Jesus did. Romans 5:8  tell us Christ died for us while we were yet sinners.

More Than Winning (Super Bowl 2010)

Here is a video sermon I did after the Super Bowl  last night. Below the video is some of the written transcript.

Well it is Sunday, Feb. 7th, 2010 Super Bowl Sunday. I want talk about something more Super than the Super Bowl which I am going show you is  related to the game. I am BillyDTeacher and welcome to my You Tube video channel.

First off hats off to the  Saints. Better luck next time to the Colts. I picked the Colts and I am a  Colt’s fan. However I’m very Happy for the Saints all of their fans.

Can followers of Jesus play sports? You bet we can.  Are followers of Christ to be weak. Not at all. 1 cor. 10:31.

The Bible tells us God created us to love him, and enjoy him forever. However we all have fallen short of God’s plan . Romans 3:23 says all of us have sinned. It doesn’t matter if you are a spiritual leader, a soul who is in a church everyday or living prison all of us are sinners. By the way sin is not just bad behavior  telling a lie, killing someone, committing adultery. It is also God’s mark which was perfection.

Even though all of us have missed God’s plan and mark God has provided someone to do for us what we couldn’t do for ourselves, Jesus.

Jesus died for every one of us.

He rose from the dead.

John 14:6 tells us he is the only way to God and heaven.

A Changed Man

Here is a video sermon I did last night on how a man was changed and what we can learn from it. Below the video is a written copy of the teaching.

Today I want talk to you and more importantly let the Bible talk to you about man who was changed. His name was Saul and later his name was changed to Paul.

A changed man; Saul becomes Paul

Acts 9: 1-20

  1. nothing is impossible for God to do. Here he took a man who wasn’t only not a follower of Jesus but he  persecuted his followers.
  2. God has to speak to a soul for them to see their need to put their faith in him. You and I can do and or say  all the right things but unless God speaks to a soul they will never be brought to him. John 6;44 says no one can come to God unless the father draws him.
  3. God will use anyone who comes to faith in Christ and willing to let God use him. The key is not how much you know or how much training you have the key is are you willing to let the Lord use you. Here God used a killer. All over this nation God is using men and women in prisons some like the ones I have been blessed to impact are on death row.
  4. God can change anyone. 2 cor. 5;17 says if anyone is in Christ they are a new creation. religion doesn’t change anyone, even going to church doesn’t change one by itself it is Jesus coming into one that will change them. Also all of us need to be changed because the Bible teaches in Romans 3:23 all of us are sinners. No matter if we are the Pope, Billy Graham , or a killer living in some prison.
